I was recently setting up a new laptop with Vista. When setting up a program to run from our network I received the following message 'The publisher could not be verified' then asked me if I wanted to run the program.
Now this was getting annoying for me and it wasn't even my computer.
I found a way of stopping this message appearing every time you run the program and it is as follows:
Run Internet Explorer and click on Tools.
Select Internet Options
Select the Security Tab
Click the Local Intranet Icon and then click the Sites button
Select the Advance Button
In the address type in 'file://servername' replacing servname with the name of the server the program in question is running on
Click add then ok everything.
The program should now work with no more annoying messages
I used this Vista Help Website to give me some sort of clue.
The bit I found is more than half way down the page.
