Open Source Software List
Friday 11th January 2008 at 10:12

I'm in a sharing kind of mood today, and what better thing to share than software?

I use a large amount of free and open source source software which include Firefox instead of Internet Explorer, Thunderbird instead of Outlook, Filezilla for ftp, Pidgin instead of Messenger and Dia instead of Visio.

I have mentioned just a few, and there are far more that without looking into I can't remember.

But I was told about a web site yesterday that you should always use before buying software. Osalt is a directory of Commercial and Open Source software. Look for any software, and this web site will tell you of an alternative.

So if you search for Microsoft Office, it will come back with Open Office, and a few others. Well worth a try.
